Business Accounts (B2B)
A B2B tenant is a business account that has been linked to your partner by PayNovus. Tenants are the unit at which funding IBANs, products, audit logs, and transactions are aggregated.
Partners never create tenants themselves. A tenant is created on your behalf by PayNovus — contact PayNovus to request one. Once a tenant is linked to your partner, it shows up in GET /api/partner/me.b2bAccounts and you can fully operate on it through the Partner API.
What a tenant contains
| Field group | Examples |
|---|---|
| Identity | companyName, clientCode, status |
| Contact | email, phoneNumber, addresses |
| IBANs | Every funding account the tenant owns. Each one carries an IBAN, currency, display name, and an active/primary flag. |
| Products | The products the tenant can issue cards against — listed by GET /business/accounts/{id}/products. |
| Cardholders | The people who hold cards under the tenant — listed by GET /business/accounts/{id}/cardholders. |
Tenant scoping
Every tenant-scoped route under /business/accounts/:b2bAccountId/* is automatically scoped to your tenant. If you pass a b2bAccountId that does not belong to your partner, the endpoint returns 404 Not Found with no further detail — the response is identical whether the tenant does not exist or belongs to another partner, so a caller cannot probe your partner's tenants.
The same scoping applies under /business/cardholders/:id/*: passing a cardholder id that is not under one of your tenants returns 404.
IBAN eligibility for issuing
When you want to issue a card against a cardholder, the platform needs to know which IBAN the card draws funding from. An IBAN is eligible for new issuance when it is marked active. A tenant's primary IBAN is used as the default when a card-creation request omits the IBAN.
Use:
| Endpoint | Purpose |
|---|---|
GET /business/accounts/{b2bAccountId}/ibans/for-issuing | List IBANs eligible for any card under the tenant. |
GET /business/cardholders/{id}/ibans/for-issuing | List IBANs eligible for this cardholder (own + tenant-shared). |
Cardholders under a tenant
A B2B cardholder is a person enrolled under one of your tenants. Cardholders have a profile, a debit account, and one or more cards.
- Approval-gated creation.
POST /business/accounts/{b2bAccountId}/cardholdersreturns202 Acceptedwithstatus: "PENDING"and ataskId. PayNovus reviews the request before the cardholder moves out ofPENDING. - No dashboard login. A B2B cardholder never logs in. The email you supply is used only for compliance and communications.
- Excluded rows. The cardholder listing excludes tenant managers (self-admin accounts), so the list only contains end-user cardholders.
To issue a card against a cardholder, pick an IBAN from GET /business/cardholders/{id}/ibans/for-issuing and a product from GET /business/accounts/{id}/products, then call:
| Endpoint | Purpose |
|---|---|
POST /business/cardholders/{id}/cards/virtual | Issue a virtual card. |
POST /business/cardholders/{id}/cards/physical | Issue a physical card (requires deliveryMethod). |
